Whether in the allocation of forced laborers to companies and private households, the building permit for housing barracks or the enforcement of contact restrictions: Under National Socialism, the public administration played a central role in organizing the deployment of millions of forced laborers in the German Reich and in the territories occupied by the Germans.

Administrative employees acted as an interface between politics, the so-called "people's community" and the forced laborers. In their professional role, they always exploited their scope for action - for better or worse.

Themed tours through the permanent exhibition

In the two-hour themed tour through the exhibition, participants discuss the decisions made by administrative staff at the time and their motives in the context of social dynamics, while also reflecting on their own understanding of their profession. Selected case histories encourage a change of perspective and sensitize participants to individual options for shaping democratic values.

The offer is aimed at employees of public administrations in training and further qualification.

One-day and multi-day workshops

In addition to the interactive themed tours, full-day and multi-day seminars are also available. In these, participants deepen their insight into the historical context and reflect on the continuities of group-related misanthropic positioning in the present as well as ethical action in a professional context.
